About
Riverfront is a private retirement residence located by the St-Lawrence river in Cornwall. Its residents will be able to enjoy the serenity provided by the panoramic view of the St-Lawrence river from their front yard while still being at proximity of all the shops offered by the city of Cornwall.
Story behind riverfront
Built in 1934 and closed in 2016, the East Front Public School was purchased in 2017 by two partners from the Eastern Ontario region. Their goal was to convert this once educational establishment into a retirement residence to give a new purpose to this heritage building. It was important for the owners to preserve the physical appearance of the original establishment to conserve the history and heritage that it brings to the community of Cornwall. Riverfront received the Heritage award in 2019.
Riverfront will open its doors in Winter 2019 where more than eighty residents will be welcomed in the first phase of the project and another forty in the second phase in 2020.
